Sunflower seed imported from Russia was found to be unfit for consumption
The Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AQTA) continues to control food products imported into the country.
Aflatoxin B1 was detected in 20 tons of sunflower seeds produced by "MIQ" LLC (exporter "Darkush Agro" LLC), which was imported from the Russian Federation by the importing company "Seyfi 22" LLC.
Appropriate measures have been taken in accordance with the legislation regarding the fact. Also, a temporary ban was imposed on the manufacturer's import of that product to our republic, and a corresponding notification was sent to the relevant institution of the exporting country.
