INFORMATION about the Electronic Prescription application
According to the Decree No. 318 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated April 14, 2023, the Electronic Prescription Platform, which is one of the important steps in the field of healthcare digitization in the country, was put into use by the Ministry of Health from May 1, 2024.
Unlike prescriptions written by hand on paper forms, electronic prescriptions cannot be lost or damaged. E-prescriptions provide for the prescription and sale by pharmacies only of drugs that have passed State Registration and whose prices have been approved by the Tariff Council. This, in turn, prevents the sale of low-quality and expired medicinal products to the population, and at the same time serves to protect their consumer rights along with transparent assessment.
In order to protect their consumer rights, we call on citizens to take the initiative to conduct these processes related to prescribing and providing their prescriptions through the "Electronic Prescription" application, and to request both prescribing medical personnel and pharmacists to comply with this.
If this is not followed, we recommend citizens to contact the "Hotline" numbers (+994 12 431 38 28; +994 55 531 38 28 ("WhatsApp")) operating under the Health Information Center.
