Employees of the Analytical Expertise Center of the Ministry of Health participated in the discussion of undesirable situations after immunization

On the initiative of the World Health Organization (WHO), a three-day seminar entitled "Adverse events after immunization (ARI): modern approaches in epidemiological surveillance and causality assessment" was organized in Baku on October 11-13, 2023.

The workshop was held to have a significant impact on improving vaccine safety, strengthening domestic capacity, and ensuring effective communication regarding serious adverse events following immunization.

In addition to Oleg Benes and Yuriys Perevozchikovs, representatives of the European Office of the WHO, as well as other experts of the USA, Georgia and the European Office of the WHO also participated in the event. Khalisa Akbarova and Rafiga Ibrahimova, experts of the Pharmacovigilance Department, represented Analytical Expertise Center of the Ministry of Health at the event. About 40 specialists from various institutions of health care (whose name is unknown) participated in the seminar.

In the high-level workshop in Azerbaijani, Russian and English, "Strengthening vaccine safety monitoring: WHO vaccine safety plan 2.0 and the immunization agenda until 2030", "Tools to facilitate data transfer and access to the WHO global vaccine safety database: VigiMobile, VigiFlow ; VigiLyze, VigiBase", "Normative base for vaccine safety monitoring. WHO's Global Comparison Tool (GBT), "MedDRA Dictionary for Coding and Analysis of Safety Data", "Assessing the Causality of ADRs", "Communicating Vaccine Safety Risks and Vaccine Benefits to the Public", etc. there were presentations on topics. Also, Khalisa Akbarova made a presentation reflecting the work done and the results obtained in the field of Pharmacovigilance of AEM.

On the last day of the seminar, an action plan was prepared and seminar materials were presented to the participants.
