Control over the import and sale of sports food will be strengthened

The Ministry of Health, the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) and the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA) held a meeting to strengthen control mechanisms over the circulation and use of sports foods and biologically active food supplements in the country. The meeting, initiated by the Ministry of Health and AMADA, was attended by representatives of the Analytical Expertise Center of the Ministry of Health, the Food Safety Agency and AMADA. Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Health Elsevar Agayev drew attention to the urgency of the issue, informing about the dangers and dangers of uncontrolled use of biologically active food supplements to the human body. AMADA Director Shafag Huseynli stressed the importance of establishing a special control system for the content of biologically active food supplements, noting that it is also important in terms of protecting the values ​​of pure sports and the health of athletes. Elkhan Mikayilov, chief of staff of the AQTA, stressed the importance of strengthening control over the domestic production of such substances. The meeting also discussed the current situation with the registration, import, quality control mechanisms and retail sale of biologically active food supplements, as well as the improvement of legislation to form an effective control mechanism. They stressed the importance of monitoring and inspection measures to strengthen control over the import and sale of biologically active food supplements.
