Commission meeting held to consider applications from business entities importing food supplements

According to Article 6 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On food products”, food products imported into the Republic of Azerbaijan must be accompanied by a duly recognized or food safety (health) certificate issued by the relevant executive authority. Import of  food supplements to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 302 of July 16, 2018 on approval of the “Form and rules of issuance of food safety certificate for food products”, and expertise of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 10, 2018 It is carried out in accordance with the "Rules for the examination of food supplements" approved by Decision No. 287.

The commission set up to ensure operative and collegial consideration of appeals of business entities engaged in the import of food supplement in this field held two meetings on February 8-14, 2021 and considered a total of 42 appeals. As a result, 15 food supplement  were denied certification. Of these, 14  food supplements were denied certification for non-compliance with the requirements of the "Rules for the examination of food supplement" on packaging and instructions for use, and 1  food supplement was rejected for non-compliance with safety indicators.

The Agency once again calls on business entities operating in this field to carry out their activities in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
