AQTA has warned that there will be restrictions on the import of products from food establishments that do not pass approval
The process of approval of food facilities operating in foreign countries by the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues.
As it is known, according to the requirements of articles 20.3, 24.5 and 24.8 of the Law "On Food Safety", taking into account the degree of risk, during the import of food and feed products to our country, the food facilities where those products are produced and processed must be approved. In order to approve a food facility operating in foreign countries, the compliance of the facility with the requirements in the field of food safety in the Republic of Azerbaijan is evaluated by the Agency by conducting an on-site assessment or through visualization. Based on the evaluation results, a decision is made to approve, conditionally approve, or refuse approval of the object.
In this regard, an official letter has been addressed to the authorized government agency of India, stating that the import of high-risk food and feed products will be restricted from August 1, 2023, if the food facilities operating in this country are not approved by the Agency.
AQTA once again warns the entrepreneurs engaged in the import of food products to our country and states that according to the requirements of the relevant legislation, it will not be possible for companies that do not apply for approval to import food products related to veterinary control, which are included in a special risk group. This range includes beef and veal, poultry and poultry, fish and seafood, canned fish and seafood, milk and milk products, and other products used for animal feed. The agency once again appeals to business entities operating in the field of importing food products, urging them to strictly comply with the requirements of the law "On Food Safety". Entrepreneurs can familiarize themselves with the requirements of the legislation on the Agency's website and social media pages, and contact the "1003-Call Center" if they have any questions.
